3 Large groups earn Superior Ratings with the 9-12 Chamber Choir earning a plaque. Plaques are awarded when all 3 judges give the group a (I) or Superior rating.
The 9-12 Choir earns 3 Superior Ratings and a Plaque. The 7-12 Choir and Jazz Band earn Superior Ratings. The Sax Quartet with Alan Santiago, Issac Santiago, Ali Ford and Karli Bruning earn special recognition for their outstanding performance and a Superior rating. A judge in a small ensemble and solo event can nominate the best performance of the day. This is an incredible accomplishment when you consider solos and ensembles are scheduled 6 minutes apart to perform throughout the entire day from 8 AM in the morning to 5 pm. The sax quartet earned honorable mention for their performance. Also earning Superior ratings were Aaralynn Collier and Ryell Haug on their Vocal Solos and Abby Anderson on her piano solo. Earning Excellent ratings were Kaylee Ptak and Trevin Scoggan on their vocal solos and Kaydence McCray on her flute solo.
The Jazz Band also attended two Jazz Festivals at Coyote and USD Jazz Festival. Soloist awards were given to Alan Santiago and Trynity Zach. Issac Santiago received a nomination for the solo award.
