Announcements:
-Emma Lammers & Mary Hahne have homework detention hall this week.
-High School Track Athletes will have a meeting Friday after school. All jerseys, jackets & borrowed spikes need to be returned!
-8-11 Volleyball players. Please hand in your camp t-shirt order by 10 am today (Thursday) to Mrs. Edwards. Forms can be found at the main office. Money can be collected at a later date.
-There will be a Home Room meeting today at 3:20pm in the gym for anyone who will be doing summer lifting.
-There will be a Close-up parent/student meeting tonight at 6:30pm
-There will be a meeting tomorrow during homeroom in Mrs. Edwards’ office for 11th grade volleyball girls.
-There will be a meeting on Monday for girls grades 8-11 interested in playing volleyball next year at 3:15 in the library.
-All library books need to be returned by TOMORROW!!
-Congratulations to Mani Lange, Hazel Hochstein and Jade Ford for Qualifying for the State Track Meet! Mani and Hazel in Pole Vault and Jade in Triple Jump. The Girls' Team placed 4th out of 9 teams and exceeded expectations for total points! They had many personal records and finished the year strong! Congratulate them on a great season!
-The Hartington-Newcastle Boys Track Team tied for District Champs with Bloomfield. The boys fought extremely hard for every point that they could, they ended the meet with a season best 100.5 team points.
Individual Results:
High Jump- Brayden Lammers placed 4th with a jump of 5-09.
Long Jump- Cole Rosener placed 1st with a jump of 20-09.50.
Triple Jump- Cole Heimes placed 4th with a jump of 39-01.00 and Brayden Lammers placed 5th with a jump of 39-00.50.
Shot Put- Lincoln Grutsch placed 6th with a throw of 37-06.
Pole Vault- Kale Korth got 1st place with a vault of 11-10, Cole Heimes placed 2nd with a vault of 11-04, and Jason Heimes tied for 5th place with a vault of 9-04.
100 m- Will Feilmeier placed 3rd with a time of 11.50.
200 m- Cole Rosener placed 2nd with a PR time of 23.25 and Will Feilmeier placed 5th with a PR time of 23.63.
400 m- Cole Rosener placed 2nd with a PR time of 52.35.
110 m Hurdles- Kale Korth placed 2nd with a time of 17.10 and Cole Heimes placed 3rd with a time of 17.32.
300 m Hurdles- Cole Heimes placed 2nd with a time of 45.17 and Kale Korth placed 4th with a time of 46.50.
4x100 Relay- The team placed 3rd with a PR time of 45.88, team members were Kale Korth, Will Feilmeier, Maximus McCray, and Cole Rosener.
4x800 Relay- The team placed 4th with a time of 10:02.30, the team members were Jason Heimes, Dane Gotch, Gabe Reyes, and Aidan Anderson.
Boys State Qualifiers:
Kale Korth- Pole Vault, 110 m Hurdles.
Cole Rosener- Long Jump, 200 m, and 400 m.
Cole Heimes- Pole Vault, 300 m Hurdles.
Will Feilmeier- 100 m.
-Anyone in grades 8-11 who are interested in going out for Cross Country next year please meet in the Commons Tuesday the 14th during Homeroom.
-Reminder that all chrome books and chargers will be turned in next Wednesday, May 15. Be sure all stickers are removed!
- Please get your yearbooks purchased for the 2023-24 school year. They will be published this summer and should be available by the start of next school year.
-Anyone interested in being on the Hartington Swim Team can pick up a registration at the central office.
