The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats competed in the Creighton Invite, going 2-1 and were crowned tournament champions. H-N was swept by West Holt in their opening match (26-24, 25-15), but swept Ewing (25-22, 25-18) and Creighton (25-22, 25-17) to improve to 8-2 on the season. The Wildcats will next host 0-7 Bloomfield on Tuesday, September 19.
In the loss to West Holt, Abbe Morten recorded a team-high seven kills as Liby Lange added 16 set assists and Autumn Lammers tacked on 10 digs.
From the win over Ewing, Morten again paced the team with seven kills and 11 digs while Lange totaled 24 set assists. Kayden Jueden and Lammers each tallied eight digs.
During the win over Creighton, Jueden led the team in kills with seven, followed by Morten with six kills and 11 digs as Rayne Allvin added five kills. Lange tacked on 17 set assists.
